2-Pyrrolidinemethanol, α,α-bis(3,5-dimethylphenyl)-, (2R)- - Introduction
(R)-( )-2-[Bis(3,5-dimethylphenyl)hydroxymethyl]pyrrolidine (abbreviated as R-DPEN) is a chiral organic compound. The following is a description of the nature, use, preparation and safety information of the R-DPEN:
Nature:
R-DPEN is a colorless to pale yellow crystal with special chiral structure and high enantioselectivity. It is an alcohol compound with a relative molecular mass of 313.44. Its chemical formula is C23H27NO and its melting point is 143-147°C.
Use:
R-DPEN are commonly used as chiral catalysts and chiral ligands. It can catalyze asymmetric synthesis reactions, such as asymmetric vinylation, asymmetric nucleophilic addition, asymmetric hydrogenation, etc. In addition, R-DPEN are also widely used in pharmaceutical synthesis, materials science and other fields, for the preparation of organic compounds with specific spatial structure.
Preparation Method:
R-DPEN preparation methods generally involve two main steps. First, N,N-dimethyl-N-(3,5-dimethylphenyl) ethanone ammonium salt is synthesized by the addition reaction of a quaternary ammonium compound and 3,5-dimethylphenylethanol. Then, the final product R-DPEN was prepared by a photocrosslinking reaction with (S)-styryldiethylenediamine.
Safety Information:
R-DPEN are generally relatively safe under normal use conditions, but safe operating procedures must be followed. It is a chemical to avoid direct contact with skin and eyes. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment such as chemical protective gloves and goggles during use. In addition, the R-DPEN should be kept away from fire and high temperature, stored in a dry, cool place, avoid contact with oxidants and acids.
